While less crunchy than a previously released I Like It When You Sleep singles such as " Love Me" or " UGH!," "Somebody Else" still maintains a hook that will be hard to resist. "I don't want your body / But I hate to think about you with somebody else / Our love has gone cold / You're intertwining your soul with somebody else," he sings in the chorus. Over heavily synthesized beats, The 1975 frontman Matty Healy brings his softest vocals from this album to date while lamenting a love gone away. "Somebody Else" treads the familiar musical trope of not wanting to think of an ex-lover with a new person. The 1975 are just one week away from the release of their new album I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It, and ahead of its due date, the band has dropped the album's most chilled-out track to date, the heartbreaking, heavily '80s-infused " Somebody Else."
